Palma Wallaby and Joey (baby)

The Wallaby is a marsupial.  A Marsupial is distinguished from other mammals by their method of reproduction.  The joey is born at a very early stage of development.  They can only crawl to the pouch on the mother where they attach firmly to the mother's nipples and feed on her milk for another five or six months.  Most marsupials live in Australia.
